Mountains.

There is nothing on the mountain top.

Except awareness of what’s below.

(And I have scaled the highest peaks,

I think that I would know)

Each village sends their best youth forth

Hoping they’ll return. Report.

Of the meaningful things to be found

at the highest of heights.

But there is only rock.

Nothing more.

And for the villagers this falls short.

There must be something. 

MORE.

But there is only rock.

Nothing more.

To see that rock. 

To understand the gravity of

“nothing more”.

Is the youth’s burden,

Is the truth’s burden.
